Smoke Sprite

Makes: 1 cocktail

Ingredients

  • 4 oz smoky bourbon or whiskey

  • 7 oz sprite

  • ice and a cube of dry ice (if you can safely get it)

  • lime or lemon wedge

N/a note: to make the drink non-alcoholic, substitute with ginger beer

Directions

  1. Fill a highball glass most of the way with ice. Pour in the bourbon first, then fill it the rest of the way with sprite. Serve with a lime or lemon wedge and a straw and enjoy!

SAFETY NOTE: If you're using dry ice, use gloves and tongs and drop one piece of ice at a time at the bottom of the glass and top it with regular ice. On top of this is when your pour your drink ingredients and when you'll see the drink start to immediately smoke and should last about 5 minutes.

CAUTION USING DRY ICE

  1. Wear safety glasses with side shields or safety goggles

  2. Wear waterproof gloves and use tongs

  3. NEVER handle bare handed

  4. Can you swallow dry ice? NO. DO NOT swallow the dry ice because it will cause frostbite and burns.

  5. Dry ice IS safe for drinks as long as the proper safety precautions are taken. You can sip form the top of the drink or wait for the ice to "melt".

  6. What about for kids? If you do, serve it in a punch bowl (at the bottom) and ladle out servings without the dry ice. Make sure the bowl is completely out of reach from the kids and do not let them handle pouring their own servings.

  7. Use a straw when drinking.
