INGREDIENTS:
I LB/454 G LEAN GROUND BEEF
4 BURGER BUNS
3 TBSP/45 ML SOY SAUCE
I TBSP/15 ML SESAME OIL
1 TBSP/15 ML BROWN SUGAR
1/4 TSP/1.2 ML GOCHUGARU OR RED PEPPER FLAKES
1/4 TSP/1.2 ML GROUND GINGER
2 CLOVES GARLIC, MINCED
4 SCALLIONS, CHOPPED
CHILI MAYONNAISE:
3/4 CUP/85 G MAYONNAISE
1/4 CUP/32 G SRIRACHA OR CHILI SAUCE
1/4 TSP/1.2 ML GRANULATED SUGAR
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the beef, soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, ginger, green onion, and garlic. Use your hand and mix until well combined.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions, shaping each into loose balls. Flatten the balls into 3/4-inch-thick patties about 4-1/2 inches around. Form a slight depression in the center of each patty to prevent the burgers from puffing up when cooked.
Place the patties onto a pan or grill rack coated with cooking spray. Cook until nicely browned for about 4 minutes. Flip burgers and continue cooking for a few more minutes until the desired doneness is reached. Before serving, toast the buns if desired.
Make the chili mayo. Using a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, chili sauce, and sugar. Mix well until sugar is dissolved.
Assemble your burger, placing i patty on top of the bottom bun. Top each serving with lettuce, cheese (if desired), chili-mayo, and a top bun. Serve and enjoy!
