Miyeok guk

Ingredients:

-1oz dried miyeok seaweed

-3 cloves of garlic, finely minced

-12oz beef brisket

-2 tbsp soy sauce

-salt

-black pepper

-3-4 cups of water

-1 tbsp sesame oil


Directions:

  1. Soak the dried seaweed in cold water for 10 minutes allowing it to expand. Then rinse the seaweed a couple of times in running water. Set it aside.

  2. Season the beef with salt and pepper in a bowl. Mix them well and set aside.

  3. Heat a pot over medium heat. Add the sesame oil, seaweed, and beef. Stir them for 3 minutes, until the beef is partly cooked. Add soy sauce, garlic and water. Cover the pot and boil over medium-medium high heat for 15 minutes or until the meat is fully cooked. Taste and adjust the seasoning to taste, if needed.

  4. Serve warm with a bowl of rice and have a happy birthday! Enjoy!

*vegan option: can use tofu instead beef
