Hot Buttered Rum
Prep time: 1 hr
-1 lb softened unsalted butter
-1 lb brown sugar
-1 lb white sugar
-1 tsp cinnamon
-1 tsp nutmeg
-1 tsp ground ginger
-1 quart softened vanilla ice cream
-1-2 tbsp HBR batter
-1-1.5oz gold rum
-2oz hot water
Mix butter, sugar, and spices (will be a thick paste).
When well blended, add ice cream.
Store in canning jars in refrigerator or freeze in a safe container.
Bring water to a boil in a kettle or microwave on high for 2 minutes.
Add HBR batter to a mug. If using a larger mug, feel free to add another tablespoon of better, more rum and hot water.
Add rum and hot water and stir well.
Dust with cinnamon or fresh grated nutmeg.
Note: make a full batch for group with full jar of batter, 2 cups of rum and 2 cups of water. Keep warm in a crock pot.
