-1 whole chicken (or 2 cornish hen)
-1/2 yellow onion (large)
-2 green onions
-8 garlic cloves, peeled and whole
-1 samgyetang soup kit (including all the spices and herbs)
-2 tsp/ 10ml salt
-6 cups/ 1.42L water
Remove any giblets from the chicken or hens.
In a pan big enough to fit the chicken, top with the water and salt. Add all of the soup kit ingredients (you can use a spice bag so you don't have to fish out the ingredients). Bring to a boil then reduce the heat so that the soup is simmering. Cover and slow cook for 1 hour.
Remove soup from the heat. Carefully remove the chicken set and strain the broth to remove all of the soup kit ingredients. Place a chicken in a bowl, pour the broth over it and serve with spring onions, soy sauce dipping sauce or spicy dipping sauce. Enjoy!
