Arson Cocktail

*Safety disclaimer: Let the flame burn off before drinking. Let us be very clear: LET THE FLAME GO OUT BEFORE DRINKING! You'll only be adding the alcohol to the citrus to set it ablaze, not the drink itself since it's frozen.

Prep time: 6-8 min

Freezing time: 3-4 hours

Makes 2 drinks

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups seedless watermelon cubes (slightly crushed or pureed)

  • 4 oz light rum

  • 2 oz fresh lemon juice

  • 2 oz orange juice

  • 1-2 tbsp simple syrup

Directions:

  1. Mix frozen watermelon (cubes or puree), rum, lemon juice, orange juice, and simple syrup in a blender until smooth. (Start with 1 tbsp simple syrup and add additional, to taste). Stop to scrap the sides, so everything is integrated.

  2. Before assembling the drink, make sure you char the lemon a bit on the stove top or with a torch (again please be really careful handling fire) then soak in the vodka before making the drink.

  3. Serve immediately in a frozen martini glass, garnished with a straw and a slice of lemon that has been soaked in vodka. Light the lemon slice with a grilled torch or a long match. Take your picture and wait for the fire to die out before consuming. Enjoy!
