Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 1/2 oz. high-quality gin
4 oz. clementine orange or tangerine juice
generous splash of seltzer
ice
orange slice, for garnish (optional)
Directions
Make simple syrup: In a small saucepan, mix the sugar with 1 cup of water. Simmer over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Set aside to cool, for about 5 minutes.
In a shaker, combine the gin and orange juice with 1 tsp of the simple syrup. Shake well, and pour into a glass with ice. Top with a splash of seltzer, add your orange slice garnish, serve and enjoy!
Note: You can also use light rum or orange-flavored vodka. The remaining syrup can be refrigerated for up to 1 week.
Non-alcoholic: Add ginger beer, juice, and a splash of seltzer.
