The Bánh Mì hot dog

Prep time: 8 minutes

Cook time: 7 minutes

Servings: 4 hot dogs


Ingredients:

-4 hot dogs, chicken, turkey, vegan dogs or italian sausage can be used as substitute

-4 brioche, regular or italian buns, sliced down the center

-1/3 cup red onions, finely chopped

-1 long english cucumber, sliced into 1/4 inch circles

-1 cup grated carrots

-2 tbsp fresh cilantro leaves

-2 tbsp fresh mint leaves

-1/2 tsp white granulated sugar

-1 1/2 tsp rice vinegar

-1 wedge fresh lime

-1/2 cup mayonnaise (can also use vegan option)

-2 tbsp chili garlic sauce or sriracha


Directions:

  1. Add vinegar and sugar to a bowl and let dissolve. Stir in carrots and salt. Let sit for 10 minutes.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayo and sriracha and set aside.

  3. Boil or grill your hot dogs or sausages.

  4. Prepping your buns: Divide the spicy mayonnaise among the four buns, spreading down the side of each. Place sliced cucumbers, onions, and shredded carrots on each side. Add your hot dogs and top with herbs and lime juice. Enjoy!
